THIRA 2026 – A Grand Onam Celebration Presented by Radio Mango at Don Bosco College Mannuthy

Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, Thrissur, organized a grand Onam celebration on 17 August 2026 at 10:00 AM on the college campus. The programme was organized to celebrate the spirit of Onam and to provide students with an opportunity to experience and showcase Kerala’s rich cultural traditions.

The celebration began with the Welcome Address by Rev. Fr. Jimmy Jose SDB, followed by the Onam Message delivered by Rev. Fr. Cyril Edamana SDB. The programme also featured the Onam Name Unveiling by the Azora College Union, marking an important highlight of the celebration.

A variety of traditional and contemporary cultural performances made the event lively and engaging. Thiruvathira by Anet & Team, Fusion Dance by Pournami & Team, and the Onam Song performed by Clifford & Team entertained the audience and added colour to the festivities. The celebration also featured Chenda Melam, Maveli and Pulikali, bringing the traditional charm of Kerala’s Onam celebrations to the campus.

The event provided students and staff with an opportunity to come together and celebrate the values of unity, joy, cultural heritage and community spirit associated with Onam. The combination of traditional performances and live entertainment created a festive atmosphere throughout the campus.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Minu Thomas. The successful conduct of the celebration reflected the collective efforts of the college community and contributed to creating memorable Onam celebrations for the students and staff of Don Bosco College Mannuthy.
