Bun Maska Magic Workshop Conducted at Don Bosco College, Mannuthy

he Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) of Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, affiliated to the University of Calicut and accredited by NAAC with B+, successfully organized a workshop titled “Bun Maska Magic” on 24th February 2026 at 10:30 AM in the AV Hall.

The workshop was designed as an engaging and delightful baking session aimed at introducing students to the art of preparing soft and delicious Bun Maska. The session provided step-by-step guidance on the preparation process, along with practical baking tips and techniques.

The programme featured a live demonstration where participants learned about the correct ingredients, accurate measurements, and essential baking methods required to achieve perfect results. The interactive doubt-clearing session allowed students to clarify their queries and gain hands-on knowledge about baking practices.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who actively engaged in the session and showed keen interest in developing their culinary skills. The event not only enhanced practical knowledge but also encouraged creativity and entrepreneurial thinking among students.

The programme concluded successfully, leaving participants inspired and motivated to explore baking as both a skill and a potential entrepreneurial opportunity.

BHARATIYA JNANA UTSAV 2026 – A Grand Celebration of Indian Knowledge Systems

Don Bosco College Mannuthy successfully organized “Bharatiya Jnana Utsav 2026”, a two-day National Symposium on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), on 19th and 20th February 2026 under the aegis of IQAC. The symposium aimed at exploring the richness of India’s traditional knowledge heritage and its relevance in contemporary education and society.


Day 1 – KALA TARANG (19/02/2026)


The first day was inaugurated byJishnu Prathap C S, Assistant Professor, Department of Kutiyattam, Kerala Kalamandalam.. The inaugural session set the tone for a vibrant celebration of Bharatiya culture and wisdom traditions.


The morning sessions under Nrutyadhara (Bharatiya Sanskriti Nrithyam) featured:


Swaroopam” – A scholarly description on Koothu by Jishnu Prathap C S, Assistant Professor, Department of Kutiyattam, Kerala Kalamandalam.


Rangrez: Colours of India” – An Ethnic Walk organized by the Department of Psychology.


A captivating Chakyar Koothu performance, showcasing the depth of Kerala’s classical temple art tradition.


Swaranjali” – A soulful tribute by Fr. Dr. Paul Poovathingal CMI, Executive Director, Chetana Ganashram, Nadathara.



Day 2 – JNANA PRAKASH (20/02/2026)


The second day focused on intellectual discourses connecting ancient wisdom with modern disciplines.


Key sessions included:


Veda Netra” – A talk on Veda and Management Practice by Dr. Madhusoodanan Kartha N V, Associate Professor, Government College, Chalakudy.


Nutana Ayurveda” – A session on Ayurveda by Dr. Aparna Poomulli Mana, Chief Resident Physician, Poomulli Mana Heritage Ayurveda Centre.


“Ganith Sagar: Ancient Ideas, Timeless Mathematics” – A thought-provoking lecture by Capt. Dr. Jaison Jacob, Assistant Professor & Head, PG & Research Department of Mathematics, St. Aloysius College, Thrissur.


A Malayalam session on cultural and philosophical reflections by Mr. John Thomas, Assistant Professor, St. Thomas College, Thrissur.

The afternoon witnessed enthusiastic student participation through various competitions and exhibitions:


Drishyam” – Digital Poster Presentation on IKS


Ithihasa Darshan” – PPT competition on Historical Movies


Kala Sagar” – PPT competition on Indian Cultural Art Forms


Pazhamayude Poomkavanam” – Antique Collection Exhibition



A special session on “Indo Germania”, a panel discussion on cultural exchange, featured Darleen Marchesin and Julia Krüger from Don Bosco, Bonn, Germany, moderated by Capt. Dr. Lovji K N.


Bharatiya Jnana Utsav 2026 stood as a meaningful academic and cultural initiative that beautifully integrated art, philosophy, science, mathematics, Ayurveda, and management perspectives rooted in Indian Knowledge Systems.


The symposium witnessed active participation from faculty, students, and invited scholars, making it a vibrant platform for dialogue, reflection, and celebration of India’s timeless wisdom traditions.


The management, IQAC, organizing committee, and all participating departments deserve heartfelt appreciation for making this national symposium a grand success

The Department of Computer Science, in association with the AI & Robotics Club of Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, organized a seminar on “AI Automation and Agentic AI” on 17th February 2026 at 11:00 AM in the College Auditorium. The session was handled by Ms. Fathima Rasha, Technical Head – Sterling AI Academy, AI Tools & Programming Trainer.

The seminar focused on emerging trends in AI automation and the concept of Agentic AI, explaining how intelligent systems can independently perform tasks and make decisions. The speaker demonstrated practical applications of AI tools and highlighted career opportunities in artificial intelligence. The programme was informative and inspiring, helping students understand the future scope of AI technologies

The sports meet featured exciting events such as Football, Cricket, Tug of War, Athletics (Throws), and a Mini Marathon. Students displayed remarkable energy, sportsmanship, and team spirit throughout the competitions. Don Bosco College, Mannuthy Celebrates Republic Day with Patriotic Fervour

Don Bosco College, Mannuthy celebrated Republic Day with great patriotic spirit on 26 January 2026 at 8.30 am on the college campus. The National Flag was ceremoniously hoisted by the Rector, Fr. Cyril Edamana SDB, in the presence of the Vice Rector, Fr. Devassy Kollamkudy SDB, faculty members, and students.

The programme began with the unfurling of the Tricolour followed by the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with pride and unity. The gathering was felicitated by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Jimmy Jose SDB, who delivered an inspiring address highlighting the significance of Republic Day and the constitutional values of justice, equality, and fraternity.

The NCC cadets, under the guidance of ANO Jinu, presented a well-disciplined parade, adding solemnity and colour to the celebration and reflecting their commitment, training, and sense of national duty.
