Bun Maska Magic Workshop Conducted at Don Bosco College, Mannuthy
he Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) of Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, affiliated to the University of Calicut and accredited by NAAC with B+, successfully organized a workshop titled “Bun Maska Magic” on 24th February 2026 at 10:30 AM in the AV Hall.
The workshop was designed as an engaging and delightful baking session aimed at introducing students to the art of preparing soft and delicious Bun Maska. The session provided step-by-step guidance on the preparation process, along with practical baking tips and techniques.
The programme featured a live demonstration where participants learned about the correct ingredients, accurate measurements, and essential baking methods required to achieve perfect results. The interactive doubt-clearing session allowed students to clarify their queries and gain hands-on knowledge about baking practices.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who actively engaged in the session and showed keen interest in developing their culinary skills. The event not only enhanced practical knowledge but also encouraged creativity and entrepreneurial thinking among students.
The programme concluded successfully, leaving participants inspired and motivated to explore baking as both a skill and a potential entrepreneurial opportunity.
BHARATIYA JNANA UTSAV 2026 – A Grand Celebration of Indian Knowledge Systems
Don Bosco College Mannuthy successfully organized “Bharatiya Jnana Utsav 2026”, a two-day National Symposium on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), on 19th and 20th February 2026 under the aegis of IQAC. The symposium aimed at exploring the richness of India’s traditional knowledge heritage and its relevance in contemporary education and society.
Day 1 – KALA TARANG (19/02/2026)
The first day was inaugurated byJishnu Prathap C S, Assistant Professor, Department of Kutiyattam, Kerala Kalamandalam.. The inaugural session set the tone for a vibrant celebration of Bharatiya culture and wisdom traditions.
The morning sessions under Nrutyadhara (Bharatiya Sanskriti Nrithyam) featured:
“Swaroopam” – A scholarly description on Koothu by Jishnu Prathap C S, Assistant Professor, Department of Kutiyattam, Kerala Kalamandalam.
“Rangrez: Colours of India” – An Ethnic Walk organized by the Department of Psychology.
A captivating Chakyar Koothu performance, showcasing the depth of Kerala’s classical temple art tradition.
“Swaranjali” – A soulful tribute by Fr. Dr. Paul Poovathingal CMI, Executive Director, Chetana Ganashram, Nadathara.
Day 2 – JNANA PRAKASH (20/02/2026)
The second day focused on intellectual discourses connecting ancient wisdom with modern disciplines.
Key sessions included:
“Veda Netra” – A talk on Veda and Management Practice by Dr. Madhusoodanan Kartha N V, Associate Professor, Government College, Chalakudy.
“Nutana Ayurveda” – A session on Ayurveda by Dr. Aparna Poomulli Mana, Chief Resident Physician, Poomulli Mana Heritage Ayurveda Centre.
“Ganith Sagar: Ancient Ideas, Timeless Mathematics” – A thought-provoking lecture by Capt. Dr. Jaison Jacob, Assistant Professor & Head, PG & Research Department of Mathematics, St. Aloysius College, Thrissur.
A Malayalam session on cultural and philosophical reflections by Mr. John Thomas, Assistant Professor, St. Thomas College, Thrissur.
The afternoon witnessed enthusiastic student participation through various competitions and exhibitions:
“Drishyam” – Digital Poster Presentation on IKS
“Ithihasa Darshan” – PPT competition on Historical Movies
“Kala Sagar” – PPT competition on Indian Cultural Art Forms
“Pazhamayude Poomkavanam” – Antique Collection Exhibition
A special session on “Indo Germania”, a panel discussion on cultural exchange, featured Darleen Marchesin and Julia Krüger from Don Bosco, Bonn, Germany, moderated by Capt. Dr. Lovji K N.
Bharatiya Jnana Utsav 2026 stood as a meaningful academic and cultural initiative that beautifully integrated art, philosophy, science, mathematics, Ayurveda, and management perspectives rooted in Indian Knowledge Systems.
The symposium witnessed active participation from faculty, students, and invited scholars, making it a vibrant platform for dialogue, reflection, and celebration of India’s timeless wisdom traditions.
The management, IQAC, organizing committee, and all participating departments deserve heartfelt appreciation for making this national symposium a grand success
Seminar on AI Automation and Agentic AI
The Department of Computer Science, in association with the AI & Robotics Club of Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, organized a seminar on “AI Automation and Agentic AI” on 17th February 2026 at 11:00 AM in the College Auditorium. The session was handled by Ms. Fathima Rasha, Technical Head – Sterling AI Academy, AI Tools & Programming Trainer.
The seminar focused on emerging trends in AI automation and the concept of Agentic AI, explaining how intelligent systems can independently perform tasks and make decisions. The speaker demonstrated practical applications of AI tools and highlighted career opportunities in artificial intelligence. The programme was informative and inspiring, helping students understand the future scope of AI technologies
Inside Cybersecurity: Career Pathways, Skills, and Industry Insights
The Department of Computer Science, Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, organized an insightful seminar titled “Inside Cybersecurity: Building a Career, Skills, and Real-World Insights” on 17th February 2025 at the college auditorium. The session was led by Sangameswaran Iyer Manikkyam, an International Cyber Security Expert, Speaker, and Community Mentor.
The speaker provided students with valuable knowledge about career opportunities in cybersecurity, essential technical and soft skills, industry certifications, and real-world challenges faced by security professionals. The session was highly interactive and enlightening, motivating students to explore cybersecurity as a promising and dynamic career field.
Snehadram 2026: A Day of Compassion and Care”
The Department of Commerce, Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, organized a Social Outreach Programme titled “Snehadram” on 16th February 2026 at Divyahrudayashram, Chennaipara.
Students visited the old age home to share love, care, and support with the residents. The programme was meaningful and helped students understand the value of empathy and social responsibility.
ATHLO-FEST 2025–26: Annual Sports Meet
The Annual Sports Meet “ATHLO-FEST 2025–26” was organized by Don Bosco College, Mannuthy on 13th February 2026 under the theme “Where Strength Meets Spirit.” The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Jinesh K.J, Circle Inspector, Mannuthy, who inspired students with his motivating words on discipline and teamwork. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments.
The sports meet featured exciting events such as Football, Cricket, Tug of War, Athletics (Throws), and a Mini Marathon. Students displayed remarkable energy, sportsmanship, and team spirit throughout the competitions. The event concluded successfully with prize distribution, leaving behind memories of unity, determination, and celebration of athletic excellence.

Our talented players displayed exceptional teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. With outstanding coordination and strategic gameplay, the team secured a well-deserved victory and brought glory to our institution.
Eye Check-Up Camp Organized by NSS Unit 338
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit 338 of Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, conducted a free eye check-up camp for students and teachers on 27 January 2026 at the College Auditorium. The programme began at 10:00 AM and aimed to promote awareness about eye health and the importance of regular vision screening.
Qualified eye care professionals carried out vision tests and offered guidance on maintaining proper eye care habits. The initiative helped identify common vision issues among participants and provided necessary recommendations for further treatment where required.
The camp was well received, with active participation from both students and faculty members. The programme reflected the NSS unit’s continued commitment to student welfare and community health initiatives.
Used Books Collection Drive – NSS Unit 338
The NSS Unit 338 of Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, Thrissur, organized a Used Books Collection Drive from 27th January to 30th January 2026 with the aim of promoting reading habits and supporting students in need. The initiative encouraged students and staff to donate their old textbooks, notebooks, and reference materials so they could be reused by others.
The programme highlighted the importance of sharing knowledge and reducing waste through reuse. Volunteers actively coordinated the collection process and spread awareness about the value of books in shaping young minds. The drive received an enthusiastic response, reflecting the institution’s commitment to social responsibility and community service.
Don Bosco College, Mannuthy Celebrates Republic Day with Patriotic Fervour
Don Bosco College, Mannuthy celebrated Republic Day with great patriotic spirit on 26 January 2026 at 8.30 am on the college campus. The National Flag was ceremoniously hoisted by the Rector, Fr. Cyril Edamana SDB, in the presence of the Vice Rector, Fr. Devassy Kollamkudy SDB, faculty members, and students.
The programme began with the unfurling of the Tricolour followed by the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with pride and unity. The gathering was felicitated by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Jimmy Jose SDB, who delivered an inspiring address highlighting the significance of Republic Day and the constitutional values of justice, equality, and fraternity.
The NCC cadets, under the guidance of ANO Jinu, presented a well-disciplined parade, adding solemnity and colour to the celebration and reflecting their commitment, training, and sense of national duty. The celebration concluded as a memorable and meaningful tribute to the spirit of the Indian Republic

The program featured engaging events such as Quizz Buzz and Pixel Art, aimed at enhancing students’ digital awareness, creativity, and computer literacy. The events encouraged active participation and fostered interest in technology among students.
The program was coordinated under the guidance of Ms. Anagha K J, Head of the Department of Computer Science, with Mr. Gokul Sona serving as the staff coordinator. The Department of Computer Science, Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, organized DIGIQUEST 2K26, a session on Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence, on 21 January 2026 at 1:00 PM. The program aimed to enhance students’ awareness of emerging technologies and digital security challenges.
The session was handled by Mr. Jaikishen Ramakrishnan, Center Director, Jetking Infotrain Kochi Ltd, who shared valuable insights on current trends in cyber security and the growing role of AI in safeguarding digital systems. The interactive session helped students understand real-world applications and career opportunities in the field.

Faculty Enrichment Program on Artificial Intelligence in Research
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, organized a Faculty Enrichment Programme on the topic “Artificial Intelligence in Research” on 21 January 2026. The session was held at the IIIrd Year B.Com Finance Class.
The program was led by Ms. Grace Santhosh, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, as the resource person. The session provided valuable insights into the application of artificial intelligence in academic research, highlighting its relevance, tools, and emerging trends. The program enriched the participants’ understanding and encouraged the effective integration of AI in research practices.
15-Day Intensive Employability Skills Training Workshop
Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, organized a 15-Day Intensive Employability Skills Training Workshop from 5 January 2026 to 21 January 2026 in collaboration with Infosys under Project Genesis. The programme was designed to enhance students’ career readiness by bridging the gap between academic learning and corporate expectations.
The training focused on developing language and soft skills, quantitative aptitude, and confidence to face the job market. This initiative marked a significant step towards ensuring that students are well-equipped with essential employability skills and prepared to meet industry demands effectively.
