DIESEL GENERATOR BACKUP SYSTEM
To ensure an uninterrupted power supply during grid outages and voltage fluctuations, Don Bosco College Mannuthy is equipped with a reliable Diesel Generator (DG) Backup System. The generator provides continuous electrical power to essential academic and administrative facilities, enabling the smooth conduct of classes, examinations, laboratories, offices, and campus events.
The backup system enhances operational efficiency by ensuring the uninterrupted functioning of critical infrastructure, including lighting, computing facilities, communication systems, and other essential services, thereby maintaining a safe and productive campus environment.
ELECTRICAL CONTROL SECTION
The Electrical Control Section serves as the central hub for monitoring and managing the college's electrical distribution network. It is designed to ensure the safe, efficient, and systematic distribution of electrical power across various academic blocks, laboratories, offices, libraries, and other campus facilities.
The control section incorporates modern protective devices, distribution panels, circuit breakers, and safety mechanisms that safeguard electrical equipment while ensuring reliable power delivery throughout the campus.
POWER CONTROL UNIT
The Power Control Unit is an integral component of the campus electrical infrastructure, responsible for regulating and coordinating the operation of the solar power plant, utility power supply, and diesel generator backup system. It continuously monitors power availability and facilitates seamless switching between different power sources whenever required.
The unit incorporates advanced protection and monitoring features that help maintain voltage stability, prevent electrical faults, and optimize energy utilization. By integrating renewable energy with conventional backup systems, the Power Control Unit ensures uninterrupted, safe, and energy-efficient power management across the college campus.
