Department of Social Work Organizes Induction & Career Guidance Session for First-Year BSW and MSW Students
The Department of Social Work, Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, successfully organized an Induction and Career Guidance Session for the newly admitted first-year BSW and MSW students. The session was led by Mr. Lims Thomas, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur.
The programme was designed to introduce students to the profession of social work, providing valuable insights into the academic curriculum, fieldwork opportunities, professional ethics, and the wide range of career avenues available in the discipline. Through an engaging and interactive presentation, the resource person encouraged students to cultivate a strong professional identity while emphasizing the importance of compassion, commitment, and lifelong learning in the field of social work.
Mr. Lims Thomas also highlighted the significant role of social workers in addressing societal challenges, promoting community development, and creating meaningful social change.
